Halloween - Continued

Really - what is not to love about Halloween? See: endless supply of chocolate bars and miniature licorice and chips; scary movies; cool weather; an excuse to beg for things; an excuse to wear silly outfits; justified vandalism...

This year marks the inaugural trick or treating experience for Lydia and, while she never did manage to overcome her crippling fear of speaking to adults/strangers and squeak out a "trick or treat" or a "thank you", she certainly appreciated the resulting haul of junk food. In a regrettable-in-retrospect decision, Mom and Dad let her have a few Smarties and several sugary licks of a sucker upon her return... minutes before trying in vain to drag her upstairs to bed and bath. Rookies.

And now - after the modest parade of princesses and tigers and... miscellaneous (the night wrapped up with a single kid wearing a KFC bucket on his head) - Terri and I are going to sit back and watch a scary movie. And I will long for the weekend to continue indefinitely. And I will eat too much candy and complain about it tomorrow - I speak from experience...
