The ending of Zack and Miri - where Seth Rogan is convinced to go back to Elizabeth Banks after Craig Robinson shows him the footage of their sex scene - was so frustrating that it got me to thinking: what are my most frustrating movie experiences? What scenes were so ludicrous that the rest of the movie, provided it had some redeeming qualities to start with, was ruined? Here's what I came up with. Please discuss, folks.
Patch Adams - That scene where it looks like Robin Williams might commit suicide until a butterfly representing his dead wife appears out of nowhere and lands on his heart - thereby convincing him to continue his life as a... hospital clown. Blah! I can't believe I watched this movie.
The Bone Collector - Denzel is bed-ridden, and only able to move his head and his finger, yet he still manages to dupe the bad guy how? By, get this, talking quietly, then biting the baddie in the jugular when he leans over to listen. Denzel's quick finger then drops his hospital bed onto the baddie's legs and voila, roll credits. Include the fact that the baddie was a surprise reveal in the closing minutes after being a tangential character for the remainder of the movie.... argh.
My Big Fat Greek Wedding - the entire movie.
Star Wars II: Attack Of The Clones - A festering black stain on my memory. "I don't like sand. It's coarse and rough and irritating and it gets everywhere. Not like here. Here everything is soft and smooth."
