Greetings From Gander (Part 2)

So - today was less exciting than yesterday in terms of the uncontrolled sliding of rental cars, but significantly moreso in the helicopter death spiral department. Huh. Today I was a ride-along observer to a number of helicopter training activities, including what is known as an autorotation - emergency manoeuvres used in the event that the blades of the helicopter stop spinning, which as you might imagine would be kinda bad. Autorotations involve a rapid descent, close to a freefall, to try and get the blades to start spinning again by induced airflow. I'm sure a real autorotation would be pant-shittingly terrifying, but a practice auto (they don't actually stop the blades from spinning) ain't none too comforting either. I'm pretty sure it was the pilots revenge on us engineers for having them fill out a 95-page survey for us...

Anyway, here is what some of the town of Gander looks like. It's very similar to Port Hawkesbury, only smaller, and Newfier. Also, our hotel restaurant is awesome.
