Twitter: Bulletin Board, Locator of Lost Christmas Presents

I hesitate to act like a defender of all new-fangled social networking websites, because (i) I don't want to get into that argument, and (ii) you are free to waste your time however you choose to. However, in the past, know that I was able to win me some sweet sold-out concert tickets through one such new-fangled social networking site (Twitter), as well as kill many an hour that could have otherwise been spent carrying out much more respectable tasks like renovating/cleaning up the house, reading, banking, exercising, socializing with co-workers, gambling, or earning extra cash via any number of my very specialized skills (e.g. I will eat almost anything).

What was I saying? Oh right, Twitter. Well, yesterday, during a lull in the work day, I noticed a "tweet" from a certain classic rock radio station I happened to be "following" that described a gift-wrapped photo album that was found on Christmas day in my neighborhood. I knew this to be the very same photo album prepared by Terri's sister for her niece (the oft-photographed Eve), and subsequently lost when it fell off the roof of her moving car (woops). One "tweet" and a phone call later, and a five-year old has been reunited with a very personal Christmas gift she wasn't aware she was missing.

So, who's the hero in this story - me or Twitter? I think we all know the answer to that...
