Jenn Grant is many things, among them: a singer-songwriter with a fantastic voice, a flaky and rambling storyteller, and a privileged friend of the CBC... who so happened to release her debut album, record Friday night's concert for future broadcast (which featured many-a-CBC personality both onstage and in the crowd), and use her song as the theme to one for their TV shows. All such facets of Ms. Grant were on display Friday night at the Cohn, accompanied by Symphony Nova Scotia.
We was there, too. And it was great.
Despite initially looking nervous standing in front of the large, imposing Symphony - all fancy and spectacled and tuxedoed - Jenn quickly pulled it together and, well, sang a whack of her songs real good like with accompaniment from SNS and her band. And, yeah... Buck 65 was there too, rapping along to the symphony. Yup, really. It was weird, but good-weird I think. Er...
Man am I tired. The above is all I could come up with. I think I managed to capture the gist though: Jenn sing good with big band, Aaron like. Me thank Terri for nice Christmas gift.
I'll be back soon when my brain is back on. Stupid awesome Olympic hockey keeping me up late on work nights... *grumble grumble yawn*
