And so my day begins. So, you ask, how is Lydia doing? And I say, great! She can pretty much walk 6-12 steps whenever she feels like it, or when coaxed, or when she kinda forgets what she's doing. As expected, she's pretty wobbly, but some of that may be genetic. Also, while not yet talking, she is trying to repeat words and is this close to saying "clock", which would not be your typical first word (I don't imagine anyway). She does say "mamamama" and "nananananna" and "daaaadaaaaadaaaa", but I'm not sure we can count those - although last night she looked right at me and said "Daaaaaaaa..." before degenerating into a long raspberry noise, which I don't think counts either.
And, as you can see from the pic above, she likes to wear her sunglasses around indoors. I think I may have been the same way before my pre-school attempts at quirky individuality were crushed by the stuffy rules and iron-fisted authoritarianism of Lakeview Elementary. Pajamas to school! Wearable food! Shorts over jeans forever!
