Lydia Log: Real Fears

Tomorrow morning I head to Comox for four days. In that time there is a very real possibility that Lydia will begin walking - she is that close. She has taken a few steps between Terri and I, sitting spaced a few feet apart on the floor, but I'm pretty certain it was just her momentum carrying her forward, and her feet hurrying to catch up. While still applause-worthy, I wouldn't call it actually "walking"... more like stumbling. We're on the cusp folks, and there is a pretty good chance I'm a-gonna miss it. And that is why we have a video camera.

In other news, the babysitting situation has bounced from okay, to bad, to not-so-bad. Eventually it will settle somewhere around okay, but in the meantime we're all nerves.

She can also identify her head, reaching for it at the appropriate time as Mom sings "Head And Shoulders". She (Lydia) also likes to freestyle, and throw her hands to her head while at the dinner table, with two fist-fulls of spaghetti. Fortunately, she hasn't progressed to "eyes" and "nose", and by that I mean it is fortunate for her eyes and nose. We suspect that she knows what all of these words mean, but just doesn't like pre-scripted dance routines. Can't say I blame her.

Year two - underway. Huzzah!
