Dinner Rolls: We Got 'Em

Right, what was I saying...? Oh yes, the one-year party. As is typical in planning for large gatherings of peoples, we greatly overestimated the appetite of our guests - and now we have a mountain of dinner rolls obscuring my coffee maker in the corner of the kitchen. We also have a fridge stogged with leftover soups, casseroles, beer (yay!) and potent anti-vampire salads (just in time for Halloween). I'll be reliving the weekend with every tupperware lunch this week.

The above: very positive, especially in light of the lovely, budget-decimating tax surprise I alluded to previously, and the long-expected but still shocking changes in routine, income, spending and parenting now that Terri is back at work and Lydia is spending her days with a variety of sitters. Seemingly overnight, our household has turned on it's head and, always resistant to change, I haven't been reacting well. I've been arguing with ruthless bank reps and cold property assessment peoples and lots of other people who claim to be powerless. I've been tweaking and re-tweaking spreadsheets. I've been spouting cliches, begging for pity. I've been perusing MLS, looking for escape hatches. I've been contemplating the lottery. I've been distracted.

And then tomorrow, Lydia spends her first full day at the babysitter's. We're all holding our breath (breaths?). Stay tuned.

looks like a fun party! hope terri's return to work is as good as can be, that miss lydia adjusts as best she can (which will be wonderfully, no doubt), and that you can ease off the rolls (jk). hope to see you guys sometime soon!

Thanks - things are getting better, sitter-wise anyway.
