Cool weather. Sleeping weather. Running weather. Comfortable living weather. Sweater weather. Finally. Weather talk is boring talk, eh? Well, an escape from the oppressive weather of late is certainly worth mentioning I would say. And it's mah blog.
The heat and humidity affect me so much – I can’t sleep, I get angry, I can’t think or concentrate, I get angrier, I can’t motivate myself to do anything, my brain short-circuits and leaks out of my ears like steam (a condition I call “going all kettlehead”). More recently, having to chase down and entertain an active crawling baby through the hazy, thick humidity of our suburban sauna of a house has added another level to the situation: forced action. Where previously my strategy for surviving these stretches of hell on Earth was to lay motionless and expend as little energy as possible, preferably near-drunk and close to a body of swimmable water, the demands of parenthood don’t really allow for this. The exposure to a cute-source like Lydia can shave a few degrees off the day, but the net result is still extreme discomfort...
What I’m trying to say is – bring on the days when I can fire up the pellet stove and complain about my drafty windows.
