Ce Weekend

...was too hot to do anything - thirty-two degrees, ughhhhh. Sleeping, moving, thinking, breathing easy - all completely out of the question. When summer decides to arrive in Halifax, it does so with a crippling, hazy humidity that has me longing wistfully for those rainy cold days of June. Or October, sweet sweet October.

Only once the angry sun goes to bed and the air cools to a less hellfiresque temperature do I relax and plan activities that involve more than just moving as little as possible or digging a deep dark hole to escape the sun. This weekend I played guitar to the great outdoors until the police showed up. And attended a girl-drink-drunk-themed birthday party. And had plenty o' gluttonous family dinners. And, despite the heat, walked the Cole Harbour Salt Marsh Trail - nearly melting my camera, and my face.

Renos and chores remain unfinished, the floors remain unswept, yet no drink went undrunk and no watermelon unshucked. Summer days, blah blah blah blah, something something, summer niiiiights...
