Yay for summer vacation! Srsly.
The young kids are running and squealing and screeeeeching around the neighborhood, while the older kids are hanging at the playground (suspicious...) and driving too fast (dangerous!), with their music too loud (lousy punks). And me - I'm pretty good. My vacation started with Lydia learning how to "high five" (a significant milestone in her development I say, right up there with walking, talking and preparing her own meals), and has been rolling along at a fairly high standard ever since, even though I haven't really left the property...
I've had steaks and beers. I've had BBQ And Indian food. I've had at least one incredible long sleep. I spent an hour watching the "Lost" Comic-Con panel on Youtube (nerd), and I spent another few cleaning my garage. All without hangover, or heartburn, or much health risk at all really (except for maybe my clumsy handling of the rusty nails, mouldy cardboard and disgusting silverfish-littered everything in the garage) - and each successful activity was celebrated with a series of baby high fives.
So now the fam and I are off to Cape Breton for a few, where we will be without the internet. In my treatment sessions, we call this "cold turkey". Thankfully I'm on vacation, because I'm gonna have so much to catch up on when I return (Thursday, for frisbee). Until then, party peoples, here is my jam of the summer so far:
PS: Congrats to my Dad who, after 6 second place finishes, won the Club Championship Golf Tournament this weekend. I believe Lydia has a few high fives for you.
