Dartmouth Day

Today we went a-walking along the Dartmouth waterfront. It was 10-degrees out, which - after the recent lifetime's worth of winter - felt like hell on Earth.

We followed the Dartmouth Heritage trail from the Alderney Ferry Terminal to the Woodside Terminal and back. The trail was incomplete, alternating from boardwalk to brick to pavement to gravel, through parking lots and behind dilapidated apartments and across train tracks - it was a challenge with a baby stroller. The walk itself was stereotypical Dartmouth: run-down and ugly, lots of graffiti and peeling paint and industrial detritus (word!), but with a fantastic view of Halifax. I'm sounding pretty negative here, I enjoyed the walk quite a bit...

The day was bright (too bright) - very hard to take pictures. But I tried. See:

Not included in the above - pics of graffiti, oil rigs, Halifax.
