The second Thursday of each month - as selected through a complex algorithm involving pagan numerology, Brownian noise theory and the Mayan calendar - our office has a pizza day. Every month, a reminder email is sent to everyone in the office so that you don't do something silly like needlessly expend energy to bring in a lunch and ruin your pizza day. The important thing to remember here is that (a) pizza days happen on Thursdays, and (b) you are reminded every month that pizza days happen on Thursdays.

Me: (groan) I hope the pizza gets here soon, I'm frigging starving!
Co-worker: It's Wednesday.
