The Seagull Has Landed

I'm on Vancouver Island, and oddly enough, Vancouver isn't. It has been a long day - I watched the TSN Sportcentre loop on my seatback entertainment screen for a few hours, then I tried to read but ended up watching the Space network without sound over the shoulder of the guy sitting ahead of me (note: Stargate SG-1 is a ridiculous looking show), then I ate an asian chicken wrap and it ruined me for the rest of the flight...

Here in BC, with half a day to kill, we drove south to the Cathedral Grove park and walked amongst the giant red cedars, covered in moss and looking all creepy and ominous. It was all that I had imagined Vancouver Island would be, except that it seems only to exist in this one little area of the island. I took some pics with the old Pentax - to be developed and posted (if they came out, which is doubtful because it was so dark in there) as soon as possible (read: next week). I also took some pics with the digital, but they suck, so I'll keep those to myself - for typical self-flagellation purposes.

Tomorrow, it's off to the Base for another fun and terrifying ride in the big yellow helicopter. Tonight: dinner (10:30 Halifax time) and Lost and some much needed sleep.

EDIT: okay just one - this is the best pic of the bunch, courtesy of a shaky-handed coworker...
