24 Hours From Now

- I will be boarding a winged cigar tube in Calgary, on a stopover between here and Comox, on Vancouver Island. I will no doubt be bloated from airport food, and possibly dangerously full of urine - a fact that I won't discover until we're taxiing down the runway, whereupon I'll have to grit my teeth and distract myself with the intricate details of the seat covers ahead of me until the godless seat belt light is turned off. It happens every time.

The enRuote magazine will be from February, and I'll have already read it. I'll have seen or not care to see many of the in-flight entertainment options, but given the choice, I will re-watch a shitty sitcom or Bigfoot documentary rather than read my book. This too seems to happen every time.

I will also have my iPod on person, but the pressurization pinches my eardrums and makes everything coming out of my headphones sound terrible, so often this stays in my backpack.

I will languish in this negativity until Saturday, when I get to wander Vancouver by my lonesome. Or until I get home on Sunday night and get to see the fam once again.

Stay tuned yo - I'll have my camera and laptop.
