This was the year of Aaron's big deal(s). Aaron the dad - welcoming Baby Lydia, the life-changing bundle of intermittently sleeping cuteness, check. Aaron the new home-purchaser and paint-spattered, bruised renovator - with an extra-wide new home, purchased out of necessity and boredom and ambition, check. Aaron the world traveler - with work-plus-limited-leisure trips to Arizona and the UK, check.
2008 was also the year of Aaron the wedding attender; Aaron the on-again/off-again coffee drinker (currently ON); Aaron the new/used DSLR operator; Aaron the failed blog publisher; Aaron the hummus junkie; Aaron the TSN junkie; Aaron the hand-shaker, awkward hugger and neurotic apologist - apologizing for calling, speaking, cleaning, not cleaning enough, drinking too much, missing perceived expectations, verbosity, dumb jokes, mumbling, messy eating, yawning and, of course, apologizing. Expect 2009 to be the year Aaron develops full-on OCD. Sorry.
In conclusion - congratulations to all of my friends whose loins bore fruit this year (Sam and Craig, Greg and Rachelle), and who wed (Sandy and Cynthia, Drew and Colleen, Joel and Alex, Al and Murna - who all married each other), and got engaged (John and Angela), and got preggers (Darren and Amy), and got new jobs (Ronna and Hollie and Tamara and Christopher - x6), and graduated (Aimee), and got new homes (Jeff and Robin, Ken and Melissa, Joel, and Matt and Kristine), and who ate well (er, everybody else).
Apologies if I have forgotten anyone and their accomplishments of this past year, which I have claimed as my own - so get your own. Just kidding.
Sorry.
