Return Of The Gamecocks

It was the first night of hockey in a months for me last night, and it was - as expected - slow, sloppy and awkward, and in no way helped by the third of a pizza I had for supper, nor the dish of chocolate truffle ice cream I had for dessert. It was also played on the worst indoor ice I recall ever having set skate on - inches of water sat around the perimeter and pooled even deeper behind the nets, the remainder of the ice soft and prone to chipping, with deep grooves remaining from aggressive strides from God knows how many weeks ago. It was like summer hockey, in October - a rough start, but a start nonetheless. Indications are that Wednesday hockey will be my sole social weekly outing for the winter, so I reeeaaalllllly hope the ice improves. Take note Devonshire Arena - get that shit taken care of!
