Phoenix (Days One and Two)

Day One - Travel. Long flights. Bad movies. Bad food. Trying to amuse myself by Photoshopping pics of a partially completed kids colouring book (see below). This exercise left me feeling like... less of a man:

Day Two - The conference has started. We are staying in downtown Phoenix, with views of the U.S. Airways Center and Chase Field from my window (see pics). If I had to describe downtown Phoenix in two words: hot and boring. Not unlike Calgary, there isn't a whole lot to downtown Phoenix other than hotels, construction, massive business complexes and conference centres. Oh, and crazy people shouting conspiracy theories at the top of their lungs (as is happening right now on the street some 10 stories down, I'm scared to leave my room to head back to the conference).Last night, after miraculously finding a sports bar that was showing the Habs game, we took a drive out to Tempe and Scottsdale, which are marginally more interesting. This Friday however, we'll be blowing town to take in the Grand Canyon, Sedona energy vortexes (thx Drew) and Monument Valley - that's when the real fun will start. In the meantime, I'll be drinking with colleagues and customers, and salvaging whatever scraps of practical information I can from an endless flow of Powerpoint presentations. Wish me luck.
