Regardless of the number or magnitude of any trades carried out today, reading this blog will make sure the day is at least entertaining. In fact, the fewer the trades, the more Jay is left to analyze the TSN Trade Centre team and their futile attempts at filling airtime, which I find particularly hilarious because it seems Jay and NHL on TSN host James Duthie have a genuine dislike for one another. If there can be only one irreverent sportscaster in the room - sorry James, it's not you. Also, Jay has been known to drop references to Stephen Malkmus and Arcade Fire in his blog... so, respect (this morning he's already dropped My Bloody Valentine). Take that James and your playoff monkey.
Last year the highlight for me was Jay's reaction to Pierre Maguire fearlessly poking fun at "Iron" Mike Keenan having traded Roberto Luongo to Vacnouver for Bertuzzi, and then Bertuzzi being unloaded to Detroit for next to nothing...
