Half-a-thought

Objectivity - I don’t think I’m capable of it. I have a hard time separating the artist from the art, or the event from the hosts, or the advice from the advisor, or the play from the player (sports-wise that is), and so on and so forth. Mainly this applies to my enjoyment of music and movies and TV – where I spend most of my free time and money. Pop culture artists (icons?) seem to thrive off of our collective lack of objectivity, and I can acknowledge that I am guilty of it – but to no real end.

Is the new Radiohead really any good? Has Lost jumped the shark? Do all Will Smith movies suck ass? By whose standards? Am I deluding myself? Does it matter? …?
